Importing Transactions to Akaunting

Akaunting makes it easy to import your business transactions manually.

Importing Transactions to Akaunting:

* Go to Banking on the Navigation menu.
* Select Transactions from the expanded options.
* On the Transactions page, click Import or the ellipses icon at the top left corner.
* Select Import from the ellipses dropdown options.
* On the Import Transactions page, Download the sample file and fill in the provided fields. Some of the necessary fields are:- * Type: Categorize the transaction as Income or Expense.
- * Transaction number
- * Paid at: Add the date of payment.
- * Currency code: Specify the currency code.
- * Currency rate: Add the currency rate if the transaction isn’t in USD.
- * Account name: Specify the transaction account according to your listed accounts on Akaunting.
- * Category name: Deposit, Sales, POS sale, etc.
- * Payment method: Credit Card, Bank transfer, Cash, etc.- * Save the file as XLS or XLSX.
* Upload your file to Akaunting.
* Click Import and wait for a few seconds. This may vary depending on the size of the data.

Adding a New Company

You can add and manage an unlimited number of companies (businesses) on Akaunting. Check out the pricing plans for details.

Adding a new company can be done from two places:

* The Account Dashboard
* The Company Dashboard

Adding a new company from the Account Dashboard

* Login to Akaunting.com to access the Account Dashboard.

You can also access the Account Dashboard by clicking on the initials of your Akaunting profile name at the top left corner and selecting Dashboard from the dropdown menu.

* On the Account Dashboard, click Create and follow the setup wizard.

Adding a new company from the Company Dashboard

* From the Akaunting UI, Click on the Company name on the Navigation menu.
* Select Manage Companies.
* Click New Company.
* Enter the required details.
* Then, Save.

You can add and manage multiple/unlimited companies depending on your Akaunting plan. Check out how to create a company.

* Select the default dashboard and language.
* Then, Save and follow the Set up wizard to complete the process.

Managing Transactions

The Transactions page summarizes income, expenses, and profit transactions.

Managing Transactions:

* Click Banking on the Navigation menu.
* Select Transactions from the dropdown to access the Transactions page.
* Hover your mouse over a Transaction to reveal Show, Edit, and Duplicate options.

Click the three horizontal dots to reveal Connect, Print, and Download PDF options.

* Check a Transaction’s checkbox for additional options at the top of the Transactions listing.
* You can Delete or Export transactions.

Editing Transaction Details

From the Transactions page:

* Click on a Transaction to access the Transaction details page.
* From the details page, click Edit.
* Update the Transaction details.
* Then, Save.

You can print or download the transaction document from the details page by clicking the three dots at the top right and selecting the print/download pdf option.

Set Default Transactions Tab

* Go to Banking on the Navigation menu and select Transactions from the drop-down options.
* On the Transactions List page, Click the Pin icon on a tab.

Importing Customer list to Akaunting

Akaunting makes it easy to import your customers manually and track transactions with your business.

Importing Customer list:

* Go to Sales on the Navigation menu.
* Select Customers from the expanded options.
* On the Customers page, click Import or the ellipses icon at the top left corner.
* Select Import from the ellipses dropdown options.
* On the Import Customers page, Download the sample file and fill in the necessary fields – Name, Email, Tax number, Phone number, Country, State, etc.

It’s necessary to fill in TRUE in the Enabled column. Please note that 500 is the maximum row allowed for import data.

* Save the file as XLS or XLSX.
* Upload your file to Akaunting.
* Click Import and wait for a few seconds. This may vary depending on the size of the data.

You’ll get a notification on the sidebar notification icon. Also, a confirmation will be sent to your email once the upload is completed.

The Manual Journals page shows a list of journal entries with Date, Description, Reference number, and transaction amount.

Managing the Manual Journal

Use the Search Bar to Filter the Journal entries by Basis and Date.

* Viewing the details of a Journal entry.
* Editing a Journal Entry.
* Printing/ Exporting a Journal Entry.

Viewing and Editing the Details of a Journal Entry:

Click on a listed Journal entry on the Manual Journals page to access the details page.

On the details page, you’ll find the following functions:

1. Edit: Click Create to reveal the Edit option, or Click Edit at the top right corner to update the details of the journal entry.
2. Print: Click the ellipses menu icon at the top left corner to reveal the options to Print, Download PDF or Delete a Journal entry.
