Creating Items Group

Akaunting makes creating item groups (products or services) easy and convenient.

Grouping items is only available on the Inventory app (_Check out how to [Install](https://akaunting.com/hc/docs/apps-and-integrations/installing-an-app/) and [Purchase](https://akaunting.com/hc/docs/apps-and-integrations/purchasing-an-app/) an app_).

**Creating Items Group:**

- * Go to Inventory on the Navigation Menu.


- * Select Groups from the expanded menu options.


- * Click New Group.


- * Enter the General Information – Name, Category, Description, and Picture.


- * Select applicable Tax(es)


- * Choose a Unit – Dozen, Grams, Pairs, Pieces, Box, etc.


- * Add Product/Service Variant(s) – Name and Values.


- * Then, Save.

**Adding a New Category**

- * Click Category and then New Category.


- * Enter a Name for the category.


- * Define the Category color.


- * Then, Save.

Adding Tax To Items (Product or Service) Group:

- * Click Tax and then New Tax.


- * Enter a Name for the Tax.


- * Enter the Rate.


- * Then, Save.

You can add multiple Taxes to a Group.
